The short version: KA CSE 2022 Study Guide does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. All your study data stays on your device.

Overview

BLRSoft ("we", "our", or "us") operates the KA CSE 2022 Study Guide mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App.

We respect your privacy. The App is designed to function entirely offline and does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use any of its features.

Information We Collect

The App does not collect personally identifiable information. Specifically:

  • We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any identifying details.
  • We do not require account registration or login.
  • We do not collect location data.
  • We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or other device resources beyond what is necessary to display the app content.

The only data generated by the App is your study activity data, such as:

  • Topics you have marked as read or completed
  • MCQ scores and quiz history
  • Flashcard review sessions and bookmarks
  • App preferences and settings (such as subject selections and display preferences)

This data is stored exclusively on your local device and is never transmitted to BLRSoft or any third party.

How We Use Information

Since we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data for us to use. The locally stored study activity data is used solely to:

  • Display your progress within the App (completion percentages, streaks, quiz scores)
  • Remember your preferences across sessions (selected subjects, display settings)
  • Support flashcard spaced-repetition review scheduling
  • Restore your reading position within topics

This data is processed entirely on your device and is not accessible to BLRSoft.

Data Storage

All App data is stored locally on your device using SQLite (a local database) and AsyncStorage (key-value storage). This includes:

  • Study content loaded into a local SQLite database at first launch
  • Progress data, scores, and bookmarks stored within the same local database
  • User preferences stored in AsyncStorage on your device

Uninstalling the App from your device will permanently delete all locally stored data. There is no cloud backup of your progress. We recommend noting your progress before uninstalling if you wish to keep a record.

BLRSoft does not have access to the data stored on your device and cannot recover it on your behalf.

Third-Party Services

The App is built using Expo (a React Native framework). When you download or update the App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, those platforms may collect certain information in accordance with their own privacy policies:

We may use Expo's anonymous crash reporting and analytics tools to identify technical issues in the App. If enabled, this may collect:

  • Anonymous device type and operating system version
  • App version number
  • Crash logs and error reports (without any personally identifying information)

This telemetry data, if collected, is used solely to improve App stability and does not include any study activity, content you have read, or any personal information.

We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or any third-party analytics that profile individual users.

Children's Privacy

KA CSE 2022 Study Guide is designed for college-age engineering students (typically aged 18 and above). The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

Since the App does not collect personal information from any user, it does not collect information from minors either. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at connect@blrsoft.com. We will promptly address your concern.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through an in-app notice or an App Store update description.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
